Kelly and Bart are officially the parents of a little man named Tombo! Kelly has been a friend of mine for over 10 years, so I was very honored to do her maternity pictures last month! We opted to do a milk bath maternity session when she was 37 weeks. I think it really captured Kelly’s glowing beauty!
Even though Kelly expressed she was a somewhat self-conscious and afraid she would look too naked – she genuinly looked radiant! The look she was going for was zen, ethereal, angelic look – and I think we nailed it!
Her cravings during her pregnancy were grilled cheese and mac and cheese!
They named their son Thomas “Tombo” Hobson Quicho. They wanted to name him after one of their favorite characters from Studio Ghibli Films, so they picked Tombo from Kiki’s Delivery Service. They also wanted him to have the option of a more serious, traditional name when he is older so they decided on Thomas for a first name. It is a tradition in both of their families to give the son the maiden name of the mother as a middle name, Hobson in this case! As a bonus, Tombo means “dragonfly” in Japanese.
Check out some of my favorite shots from our session together at my home in Puyallup – sorry, no tub at the new studio 😉
See? I told you she was beautiful! Can’t wait to meet little Tombo when I do his newborn photos on Tuesday!
